Residents of the Gulf Coast woke up to widespread destruction Thursday, a day after Hurricane Michael made landfall on the Florida Panhandle, causing widespread flooding and power outages. Officials say it’s the third-most powerful hurricane on record to hit the continental United States.
While Michael has since been downgraded to a tropical storm, it continues to batter the Southeast.
