Diabetes – Type 2

Like all diseases, the sooner one gets it to see the doctor and have it diagnosed … the better the outcome.


So what are those early warning signs of diabetes? According to WebMD, they include:

  • Increased thirst
  • Increased hunger (especially after eating)
  • A dry mouth
  • Urine infections
  • Frequent urination
  • Unexplained weight loss even though you are eating and feel hungry
  • Weak, tired feeling (fatigue)
  • Blurred vision (1 or both eyes)
  • Headaches

How is type 2 diabetes treated today? According to Mayo Clinic, treatment includes:

Management of type 2 diabetes includes:

  • Healthy eating (fruits, vegetables, whole grains)
  • Regular exercise (30 minutes aerobic exercise 5 days a week)
  • Diabetes medication (Metformin) or insulin therapy (Novolog, Lantus, Levemir)
  • Blood sugar monitoring (Glucose meter used daily)
