Smoothie Recipes for Inflammation

Not sure where to begin in order to reduce inflammation? Start with some easy recipes that require a blender, some ice cubes and a few ingredients. Try to shop organic if possible. You will definitely notice a difference in the flavor.

Recipe #1: Strawberry & Ginger Blast Smoothie

1 cup organic strawberries, frozen or fresh

1 cup natural cranberry juice (no sugar added)

1/2 inch piece of ginger root

1 tablespoon Manuka honey

Organic cinnamon (to taste)

4 – 5 ice cubes

Place all ingredients in blender. Start on low speed first and then increase to higher speed. Pulse until smooth. Drink with a straw or sip immediately.

Hint:  If you refrigerate all of the ingredients the night before, the smoothie will be cooler to drink.

Recipe #2: Cacao, Banana & Raspberry Smoothie

1 cup unsweetened nut milk (almond, coconut, cashew)

1/2 cup water, filtered

1 cup organic raspberries, frozen or fresh

1 banana, ripe

3 tablespoons cacao powder

1 tablespoon Manuka honey

4 – 5 ice cubes

Cacao nibs, cut into small pieces

Place all ingredients in blender. Start on low speed first and then increase to higher speed. Pulse until smooth. Garnish with pieces of cacao nibs. Drink with a straw or sip immediately.

Hint:  If you refrigerate all of the ingredients the night before, the smoothie will be cooler to drink.

Recipe #3: Greek Yogurt & Blueberry Smoothie

1 cup organic nut milk (almond, cashew, coconut)

1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt

1/4 cup fresh, organic spinach (packed)

1/4 cup organic blueberries, frozen or fresh

1 tablespoon nut butter (almond butter, cashew butter, natural peanut butter)

Pinch of bee pollen or organic cinnamon

4 to 5 ice cubes

Place all ingredients in blender. Start on low speed first and then increase to higher speed. Pulse until smooth.  Garnish with a pinch of bee pollen or organic cinnamon. Drink with a straw or sip immediately.
